TOUR RULES & SAFETY GUIDELINES

1. PARKING & MEETING POINT

1.1. Parking
If you are coming by car, you can park at the foothill of the fortress, in front of the Trag Roda i Mačka restaurant. Alternatively, if you are driving up to the fortress, you may find a parking space in front of the Museum of Novi Sad.

1.2. Meeting point
The meeting point is at the agreed location, 10 minutes before the agreed tour start time.

The tour will take place regardless of the weather conditions, including rain, snow, or sunshine.

2. TIME MANAGEMENT

The tour lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours, although it can be shorter depending on the pace of the group.

The tour can be arranged in the morning, during the day, or at night.

3. CLOTHING

3.1.
In addition to comfortable shoes and casual clothing (we are not going to a disco!), we recommend wearing layers of clothing, such as a short-sleeved T-shirt combined with a long-sleeved shirt or light jacket.

The temperature inside the tunnels is usually between 12 and 15°C. During the summer, it can feel pleasantly cool underground, with temperatures of around 16°C. In winter, temperatures of 12–15°C are common, although in some areas they can occasionally reach as high as 21°C, regardless of the freezing temperatures outside.

3.2.
We recommend bringing a hoodie or light jacket and tying your hair back.

Hats and baseball caps are not recommended inside the tunnels because they can obstruct your perception of the space around you and increase the risk of hitting your head on the tunnel ceiling.

4. LIGHTS, CAMERA & VIDEO

4.1.
It is recommended to have a mobile phone with you, both for taking photos and as an additional source of light (torch/flashlight).

Please note that there is no mobile phone signal inside the tunnels, so mobile phones cannot be used for calls while underground.

4.2.
If you have a handheld flashlight, feel free to bring it with you. You can also purchase a basic flashlight quite cheaply for a few euros.

However, the light provided by mobile phones is generally sufficient for the experience.

5. FOOD & DRINKS

You are welcome to bring a sandwich or a snack if you wish. Sweets are also welcome.

Please bring a bottle of water with you.

6. ATTENTION & SAFETY

6.1.
You are participating in the tour at your own risk and responsibility.

6.2.
We will enter areas with complete darkness. In some places, daylight may be visible only through embrasures, ventilation openings, and casemates.

6.3.
If you are claustrophobic, prone to panic attacks, or feel that you may have difficulty dealing with fear or darkness, please do not hesitate to reconsider joining us on this adventure/creative workshop.

6.4.
If anyone becomes frightened during the tour and wishes to leave, the guide can lead them outside within approximately two to three minutes from any point along the route.

6.5.
During the tour, it is important to move carefully and calmly. Stay alert and pay close attention whenever the tour guide (JFM) points out a potentially dangerous or difficult section.

6.6.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that when you pass through a difficult section of the tunnel — such as an area with holes, low ceilings, uneven surfaces, mud, water, or bats — you warn the other participants behind you. This is essential for preventing accidents and injuries.

6.7.
Taller participants should take extra care, particularly when walking through downhill sections, to avoid hitting their heads and suffering injuries.

6.8.
In addition to bricks, dust, mud, and water, you may occasionally encounter cans, plastic bottles, and other litter. Unfortunately, these are still part of the current condition of the tunnels, despite the fact that more than 100 tons of waste have already been removed from the site.

6.9.
Many of the tunnels contain graffiti left by treasure hunters and curious visitors.

7. WHAT IS ALLOWED

7.1.
Smoking is permitted during designated breaks.

7.2.
If you feel that you cannot continue or need to use the toilet, please inform the guide, who will accompany you outside.

8. WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED

8.1.
You may not participate in the tour if you are drunk or under the influence of alcohol.

8.2.
Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited during the creative workshop.

8.3.
It is strictly forbidden to leave any kind of litter behind. All waste must be collected and taken out of the tunnels with us.
